Kanye Breaks Down On Stage

Kanye West broke into tears last night while attempting to perform the song "Hey Mama" at a concert in Paris.

In a video posted on YouTube today, Kanye can be seen holding his hands over his face and just standing in the middle of the stage as the band began to play the song. Eventually a few band members came to console him. The crowd can be heard chanting his name over and over again.

West left the stage, but eventually returned to perform the song "Stronger" with the audience yelling out their support. He is expected to return to the U.S. for his mother's funeral, taking place on Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

46. I'm not a Kanye Fan, but the video brought tears to my eyes. It's tough loosing someone so close, and Kanye's mother was to him. It's going to take awhile to heal.

47.
A tune about mom now is poor song selection - I'd be demanding money back from West - & time for him to give up racism & gay bashing.

50. For those who are questioning Kanye's need to perform during such a time as this, y'all need to realise that there's no manual that offers step-by-step guidance on how to make it through the grieving process. I went back to work within days of my mother's death because I thought that occupying my mind with day-to-day activities would somehow take the edge off my pain. Of course it didn't work but it was something I had to find out for myself!! Quit questioning the young man's actions and if y'all have nothing good to say, SHUT THE HELL UP!!! I feel your pain, Kanye and I'm sending you some Jamaican love!!

51. It's way too early and he is not mourning yet. He's trying to be strong but b/c he is not at home it really not going to hit him until he makes that plane ride back to the states....that's when everything will hit him. The best thing is to get back home even though it will be hard. I went through this last year, It's still hard and painful every day, so I block it out.
Gob bless

TMZ you are wacky and purely hateful

52. The show must go on...get it together!
I dont understand the first few comments. Where they making fun of him but then changed it b.c of the backlash on the comment board? TMZ = p*ssies///At least be like Perez and stick to who you are.
Also Mo money mo problems. . It's true!

54. Very sad. Scanning thru the comments however I didn't read near as many saying he was cashing in on his mom's death as I read when Maria Osmands father died and she continued to preform. I feel for both of them but he does seem to be getting a lot more sympathy. Maybe we expect her to be stronger because she is older? Speaking for myself I would have taken time off to mourn in private in both cases.

55. Ok Kelli I just listened to Rosie's tribute to Kanye. Made me cry. God bless Kanye's torn soul. I just can't imagine his pain. His mother was way too young to pass.

56. That hurts to watch his suffering!

57. For zoemayne: Your comments about this somehow being the fault of Kanye shows what a obviously hateful person you are. Anyone who know anything about Kanye and his mother can tell you that the opposite is true. I am not a Kanye fan, but to say this is STUPID!

58. Well DUH TMZ! He had a very close relationship to the sole parent that raised him, I'd expect him to break into tears and mourn! His mothers passing was a tragedy, a bad thing that happened to a good person. It had nothing to do with Kayne's success or money. Here he is onstage trying to be strong and to sing a tribute to his mother and of course it ends up on the internet showing his grief! God Bless you and keep you Kayne! Your mother will continue to be proud and to watch over you each and every minute of everyday.

59. God, my heart really goes out to him.
I can't imagine the kind of pain he must be in.
My mom and I aren't especially close, but I still can't imagine losing her.
God bless you, Kanye.

60. I know Kayne is a racist and hates whites but I'm white and I cried when I saw this .. and when I heard of his loss after she loved him so much, I cried for him then. He should like white people more .. we are not as prejudiced as blacks .. and our hearts are sad for him even after all the mean things he said.
